Role Overview:
They are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to lead the development of the multiplayer framework for an unannounced project. Reporting to the Technical Director, you will act as a key architect for real-time online systems, collaborating across gameplay and platform teams to build a scalable, high-performance foundation.
Responsibilities:
Architect & Own: Lead the development of core network systems for a cutting-edge real-time experience.Refine & Optimize: Improve cross-platform multiplayer performance for both P2P and dedicated server environments.Integrate: Bridge the gap between game systems and backend services through close partnership with internal and external teams.Standardize: Establish and advocate for engineering best practices regarding replication, prediction, and latency.Troubleshoot: Utilize profiling and low-level debugging to deliver a secure, responsive player environment.
Requirements:
Professional experience as a Network or Gameplay Engineer on several shipped games.Advanced UE5 proficiency is strictly required, including GAS (Gameplay Ability System) and Unreal's Gameplay Framework. Expert-level coding skills in C++.Advanced knowledge of Unreal replication models, relevancy, and Replication Graph.Deep understanding of networked movement, authority flow, and prediction logic.Hands-on experience with network profiling and analysis tools.Familiarity with first-party platform requirements (e.g., PlayStation, Nintendo) and backend services like PlayFab or Pragma.High level of organization and a team-first communication style.
Compensation:
The typical salary range for this position is between $100,000 and $150,000 CAD + bonus + benefits. The final agreed-upon salary may vary depending on factors such as location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
