Synergy Protection Group Inc. is looking for dedicated Crossing Guards to join our exciting, hard working and growing team in Moncton, New Brunswick starting September 2025 You must reside within close proximity to the Arnold H Mcleod school area.

JOB SUMMARY – What will you do?

Under general supervision of and reporting to Field Supervisor, crossing guards are responsible for conducting safe and friendly crossings of pedestrians at various crosswalks.

Specific Duties

  • Obey all established safety regulations to ensure pedestrians are assisted in crossing roadways at designated locations.
  • Coordinate the flow of pedestrians across selected intersections with the flow of vehicular traffic.
  • Exercise sound judgement and determine safe gaps in traffic for crossing purposes.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively to crosswalk users regarding safe and unsafe crossing practices.
  • Display a school crossing stop sign (approximately 2-5 pounds) in an upright position to ensure it's visible to vehicular traffic approaching from all directions.
  • Document and report any incidents, accidents, injuries, hazards or suspicious persons/vehicles to the Field Supervisor and appropriate Police and School officials.
  • Wear safety equipment at all times while on shift.

Job Requirement

Must have a recent Vulnerable Sector Police Check and/or be able to obtain a VSC and provide a copy of the results during the onboarding process.

Visit Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE – What you will bring?

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Keen alertness to surrounding and ability to follow directions and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain high degree of mental concentration, with visual and hearing ability to recognize traffic at a safe distance.
  • Ability to walk pedestrians safely across busy intersections and react safely and decisively to traffic conditions.
  • Ability to work in diverse weather conditions (cold, snow, heat, humidity, wind etc.)
  • Be punctual and remain on the assigned location for the duration of shifts (mornings, lunch and dismissal)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
