Location: Vancouver, BC

Salary: $25 per hour, 40 hours per week

Contract: 12 week contract- Summer 2026 (June 1st Start Date)

Reporting to: Engineering Resource Manager

Your role in the mission:

We are seeking a summer intern in Mechanical Engineering (Plasma Diagnostics) to apply your education and experience in the development of plasma diagnostics for a new fusion energy device.

The ideal candidate will have experience in CAD design, Finite Element Analysis, and thermo-mechanical effects. This role will require someone who can work with cross-functional teams to bring complex concepts to life.

  • Create and update 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings in Siemens NX
  • Design and develop CAD models for plasma diagnostics.
  • Support mechanical design activities including concept generation, layout, and tolerance analysis
  • Assist with mechanical assembly design, tooling design, and part integration efforts
  • Contribute to design reviews and documentation to ensure accuracy and manufacturability
  • Collaborate with engineers across disciplines (mechanical, electrical, systems) to support ongoing development projects.

What you'll need:

  • Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)
  • Hands-on experience with Siemens NX (Or similar CAD Software) for modeling and drafting
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals and GD&T principles
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
  • Strong attention to detail and solid problem-solving skills
