Shack Shine is on a mission to revolutionize home services. We are transitioning into a technology-first, membership-based business, and data is the fuel for that engine. We're looking for a Data Scientist who is ready to move beyond just analyzing the past and start predicting the future.
In this role, you won't just be crunching numbers; you'll be building the brain of our franchise system. You will leverage LLMs to automate the mundane, build forecasting models that predict the next job, and use Tableau to give our Franchise Partners a clear lens into their business growth.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT YOUYou are a curious problem-solver who sees the story hidden in the data and has the technical chops to turn those insights into automated tools.
- The Translator: You have a rare gift for taking complex model outputs and turning them into "plain-English" advice that a business owner can act on immediately.
- The AI Enthusiast: You aren't just reading about GenAI; you are excited to actually build LLM-powered tools that solve real-world operational headaches.
- The Predictor: You're obsessed with forecasting. You love the challenge of helping a Franchise Partner know exactly when they need to hire their next crew before the busy season even hits.
- The Visual Storyteller: You don't just make charts; you design intuitive Tableau dashboards that make business owners feel in control of their own success.
- The SQL Wizard: You take pride in clean, efficient data pipelines, knowing that great AI and insights are only as good as the data feeding them.
YOUR IMPACT AT SHACK SHINE
You will act as the bridge between raw data and our network of Franchise Partners, ensuring they have the proactive, predictive insights they need to scale.
- Build the "Predictive Engine": Maintain and evolve models that forecast seasonal demand and revenue. You'll help our partners optimize their crew capacity and scheduling so they never miss a "WOW" moment.
- Deploy GenAI Solutions: Be the architect of our LLM implementation. From automated lead qualification bots to internal knowledge retrieval systems, you will streamline how we support our customers and partners.
- Design the Franchise Command Center: Own our Tableau performance suite. You'll build the dashboards that allow partners to visualize their P&L, job completion rates, and CSAT scores against the best in the network.
- Engineer Clean Data Pipelines: Write the SQL queries that aggregate data from our CRM and booking platforms, ensuring our datasets are robust, clean, and ready for high-level modeling.
- Drive Executive Decision-Making: Provide the leadership team with actionable summaries that influence the strategic direction of the brand.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- Proven Experience: 2–4 years of experience in Data Science, Business Intelligence, or a related field (Junior to Intermediate).
- Modeling Mastery: Experience building predictive models (regression, time-series, etc.) to solve real business problems.
- AI/LLM Curiosity: Practical experience or a strong portfolio of projects involving LLMs and Generative AI.
- Visualization Skills: High proficiency in Tableau (or similar BI tools) with an eye for user-centric dashboard design.
- Technical Toolkit: Strong SQL skills and experience with Python or R for data manipulation and modeling.
- The "Play to Win" Mindset: You are comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment and want to see your work have a direct impact on the bottom line of small business owners.
