Job Description
Our client is a leading environmental consulting and engineering firm in Canada, with a strong mining and water resources practice and access to a global technical network. They deliver integrated groundwater and mine water solutions for complex projects across the full mine lifecycle.

They are seeking a Principal Hydrogeologist to provide senior technical leadership, guide complex mining projects, grow client relationships, and mentor the next generation of hydrogeologists.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and review complex hydrogeological investigations, groundwater modelling, and mine water management projects from exploration through closure
  • Provide strategic technical oversight for dewatering, pit lakes, tailings seepage, and long-term groundwater recovery assessments
  • Advise clients and regulators on groundwater supply, permitting, and water management solutions
  • Mentor and develop hydrogeologists and engineers, building team capability and technical excellence
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, prepare proposals, and strengthen client relationships
  • Represent the firm in technical forums, conferences, and industry events

What You'll Bring
  • 25+ years of hydrogeology experience, including 15+ years in mining hydrogeology
  • Master's or PhD in hydrogeology, geological engineering, or related field
  • Professional registration (P.Geo. or P.Eng.), multi-jurisdictional registration an asset
  • Proven leadership across the mine lifecycle: exploration, baseline, development, operations, closure, and post-closure
  • Strong experience in mine dewatering, groundwater–surface water interaction, pit lakes, tailings seepage, and integrated modelling (MODFLOW, FEFLOW, MIKE SHE, HydroGeoSphere, GoldSim)
  • Demonstrated success winning and delivering large, complex projects
  • Exceptional communication, technical writing, and mentorship skills
  • Willingness to travel within Canada and internationally
