Pet Planet is seeking a passionate Retail Ambassador to join our team

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Absolute customer service – friendly, outgoing, knowledgeable, great with people, and a desire to get to know customers and meet their needs
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment while creating a welcoming atmosphere through attitude, spirit, and enthusiasm
  • Acknowledge every customer that walks through our door
  • Sales and service on the floor; building customer relationships using knowledge of products and services that are concerned with the well-being of our customer's pets
  • Customer carry outs
  • Handle returns when appropriate. Follow up with the customer on any outstanding issues
  • Handle customer requests for information or product; follow-up with that customer until the transaction is complete
  • Participation in promotional/advertising campaigns as directed by Pet Planet management
  • Ensure all shelves are clean and dusted, including all stock on the shelves and hanging on pegboard
  • Ensure products are pulled from the stock room constantly – this is a task done many times daily. Stock room must be kept as clean and organized as any shelf in the store
  • Ensure all closeout procedures are followed every night. Activities include emptying garbage, sweeping and thoroughly mopping the floors, vacuuming rugs, wiping down the counters and computer equipment
  • Ensure that all stock is faced (pulled forward) and accessible to customers
  • Ensure all merchandise is organized properly and logically on shelves and pegboard
  • Ensure that when products are being delivered, they are checked thoroughly for accuracy on the packing slip/invoice
  • Ensure that all products on our shelves are priced at all times
  • Work with your Team Captain to keep inventory accurate and concise
  • Ensure all end cap promotions are merchandised properly, including signage, displays, etc.
  • Able to work as an integral team member but also be able to work alone as required
  • Comfortable being on your feet for long periods and physically able to lift 40lbs
  • Able to work afternoons, evenings and week-ends

Experience in pet retail an asset.
