We are currently seeking a
highly motivated, technically capable, and customer-focused professional
to join our team in a
Technical & Outside Sales-focused role
, supported by hands-on technical service experience.
The Role
This role is primarily focused on
outside technical sales and customer development
, with a strong emphasis on
solution-based & value added sales.
The successful candidate will act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, supporting sales activities with product knowledge and practical field experience.
Hands-on
technical service and commissioning experience is highly preferred
to support customers through commissioning, troubleshooting, and solution recommendations, however, is
not intended to be a full-time service role
.
You will be a key technical resource for customers while also identifying opportunities to support and grow accounts through HSL Automation's product and solution offerings in Saskatchewan as we establish and grow our team in the region.
Customer interaction and regional travel are essential parts of this role.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Outside Sales (Primary Focus)
- Develop and grow new and existing customer accounts across the assigned territory
- Conduct regular customer meetings, site visits, and technical consultations
- Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and solution recommendations
- Identify, pursue, and follow up on sales opportunities, leads, and quotations
- Support project-based and day-to-day sales across HSL Automation's product portfolio in the assigned region
- Participate in industry events, trade shows, and customer training sessions
Technical Service & Support (Preferred Capacity)
- Leverage field service, commissioning, or troubleshooting experience to support sales discussions
- Perform field service, troubleshooting, and start-up / commissioning of VFDs
- Conduct customer training and technical demonstrations
Collaboration & Planning
- Work closely with Inside Sales, Technical Services, Production, and Management
- Contribute to account planning and reporting on customer activities and opportunities
- Help strengthen the overall HSL Automation customer experience in Saskatchewan
Qualifications & Experience
Required / Strongly Preferred
- 3 or more years of experience in technical sales, low voltage applications, or technical solution-based selling
- Strong electrical and technical aptitude, ideally within industrial or commercial environments
- Excellent customer-facing communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and travel within the region
- Entrepreneurial, self-driven mindset
- Valid driver's license
Highly Preferred / Assets
- Background in any combination of electrical, field service, commissioning, troubleshooting, or technical support
- Understanding of 3-phase power and electrical networks
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and control schematics
- Electrical / Electronic Technology Certification is an asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
