Description:

The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) invites applications for a full-time teaching stream position in foundations of psychology. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026.

Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. degree in Psychology or a related field by the time of the appointment or shortly thereafter, with a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching.

Applicants must have teaching experience in a relevant degree-granting program at the undergraduate level, including lecture preparation and delivery, consistent experience with practical- or lab-based instruction, and a record of excellent pedagogical inquiry and demonstrated interest in teaching-related scholarly activities.  We seek candidates whose teaching interests complement and enhance our existing departmental strengths. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to practical- or lab-based and lecture-based instruction across areas within our programs. The successful candidate will also be able to identify opportunities to integrate practical- or lab-based material across curriculum levels, assist students with program navigation, and contribute to innovation in teaching. Preference will be given to individuals with demonstrated organizational and communication skills and interests in innovative practical instruction.

Evidence of excellence in teaching and a commitment to excellent pedagogical inquiry, along with the other criteria listed above, can be demonstrated through the applicant's curriculum vitae and teaching dossier, highlighting experience with practical- or lab-based instruction, as well as accomplishments, awards and accolades, pedagogical scholarship or instructional leadership, and strong letters of reference from referees of high standing.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
