One Red Maple is seeking a full stack developer to develop, enhance, and maintain code, ultimately changing the world. We are a new start up in the online retailing space and we have this exciting opportunity to join the team and build a new company. This position will involve working in an exciting and vast technical landscape on both the front-end and back-end of the project. The successful candidate will work with testing platforms, DevOps platforms, databases, asynchronous, event-based programming, automation scripts and tools, client/service architecture, API design, Social Media integration and IoT.

Responsibilities:

  • Involved being a part of a team of application developers - prototyping, development, testing and deployment.
  • Prototyping of responsive and highly interactive UIs
  • Develop and support extensions for all major browsers.
  • Develop and architect Android and iOS applications.
  • Work with team to clarify functional flows and provide technical insights on optimization.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and user feedback sessions to gather input and apply rapid iterations.
  • Work closely with design team members and build requirements accurately.
  • Lead best practices by producing high quality, documented and testable code.
  • Keep up to date with current trends in hybrid app development.
  • Involved in product testing and releases.
  • Identify and implement creative solutions to address issues/bugs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Self starter
  • Excellent communication skills
  • University or college student currently enrolled in Computer Science.
  • Solid understanding of the full mobile development lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps concepts
  • Experience with or knowledge of containers, container orchestration, DevOps and automation servers
  • Good knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript ES6+.
  • Experience with asynchronous and event-based development patterns
  • Good knowledge of mobile application environments to include, but not limited to iOS, Android
  • Experience with or knowledge of hybrid app frameworks such as Flutterflow
  • Experience with or knowledge of cloud architecture (Infrastructure as a service) such as MS Azure or AWS
  • Knowledge of iOS, Android and other mobile frameworks for hybrid app development.
  • Good knowledge of Database design, SQL, and NoSQL database concepts.
  • Experience with at least one back-end/server-side language including, but not limited to: PHP, .NET, , etc.
  • Good knowledge of HTTP specification and REST API concepts
  • Experience with front-end (MVVM) frameworks such as or other
  • Experience with Git version control
  • Experience with or knowledge of web sockets and other progressive web technologies (Service workers, Web Workers, PWA, etc.)
  • Deep knowledge of web technologies
  • Must have ability to learn on the job and be adaptable to changes

INTERNSHIP ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Successful candidates must:

· Be unemployed or underemployed youth (persons aged 30 and under);

· Have graduated within the last three years with a degree, diploma, or certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution;

· Be legally entitled to work in Canada;

· Have not previously participated in a youth internship with FedNor's Regional Economic Growth through Innovation (REGI) or in any other federal or provincial internship program with pay for a period of six months or more;

· Not be related to the directors, officers, or managers of the organisation

· Work on project-based activities listed under Canada's Economic Strategy Tables (Advanced Manufacturing, Agri-Food, Clean Technologies, Digital Industries, Health/Bio Sciences, Resources of the Future, and Tourism)

· Must reside in Northern Ontario or be willing to move to the region for the period of the internship

SALARY: This full-time position is partially funded by FedNor's Regional Economic Growth through Innovation (REGI).
