As we continue to expand our commercial services division, we're looking for a motivated and skilled Commercial Internet Installation Specialist to join our field team.
Position Overview
As a Commercial Internet Installation Specialist at Swift-, you'll be responsible for installing new commercial internet services, integrating customer networks, and ensuring each business receives a clean, professional, and high-performance installation.
You'll work hands-on in a variety of commercial environments—offices, industrial sites, retail stores, farms, and multi-tenant buildings—installing structured wiring, deploying routers and switches, and activating service links. This is a customer-facing technical role that blends fieldwork, troubleshooting, and small-business network configuration.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and activate Swift- internet services at commercial customer locations.
- Install and configure routers, switches, wireless access points, and other customer-premise equipment.
- Integrate customer networks with Swift- service handoff, including basic routing, DHCP, VLANs, and Wi-Fi deployments.
- Test signal levels, throughput, and network handoff parameters to ensure service quality.
- Diagnose and resolve connectivity, cabling, or equipment issues on-site.
- Build small network racks, dress cabling, and maintain clean, professional communication rooms.
- Communicate clearly with business owners, managers, and site contacts during installations.
- Document installation details, test results, and site notes for internal records.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of experience in internet installations, low-voltage, structured cabling, or commercial IT fieldwork.
- Strong working knowledge of commercial structured wiring and termination standards.
- Hands-on experience configuring small-business networks (routers, switches, wireless).
- Ability to diagnose basic and intermediate network issues.
- Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, rooftops, and in industrial environments.
- Strong customer-service skills and professional communication.
- Valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and reliable daily transportation
Preferred Skills
- Experience with wireless ISP equipment
- Familiarity with Ubiquiti, MikroTik, Tarana, or similar network hardware.
- Experience with small/medium business low voltage wiring
- Experience with fiber installation or splicing.
- Familiarity with project quoting, budgeting, and invoicing.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on efficiency, reliability, and safety.
- Journeyman Communications Technologist designation or a Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Telecommunications, or Computer Engineering is considered a strong asset.

Pay: $28.00-$38.00 per hour
