We are currently looking for a Team Lead - Health & Wellness to join our team of committed professionals. This Full-Time Contract (ends 30 April 2026) position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario's Chippewa location in North Bay.
Under the leadership of the Supervisor of Health & Wellness, the Team Lead – Fitness is responsible for supporting the coordinating the planning and delivery of programs and services according to the YMCA policies, procedures and standards ensuring participant satisfaction.
START DATE: As Soon As Possible
LOCATION:North Bay, ON
RATE OF PAY: $21.63 per hour
HOURS: 40 hours per week
Major Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality programs by instructing group fitness classes, conducting Smart Start appointments, and providing personal training
- Lead fitness classes or arrange for coverage as needed
- Contribute to the development of seasonal group fitness programming
- Design and implement promotional initiatives to enhance program participation
- Assist with the recruitment and selection of staff and volunteers
- Support and mentor staff and volunteers to foster a positive work environment
- Participate actively in the Duty Manager rotation
- Uphold YMCA Standards of Excellence in all daily responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Association
Qualifications
- College diploma or University degree in Physical Fitness Management, Recreation Management, Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, Physical Education or related field
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR C
- YMCA Fitness Certification(s) or equivalent
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a similar role, including leadership experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and a strong team player
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Bilingualism in both official languages an asset
- Current and satisfactory Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
