Overview

We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our retail team. This role is essential in providing exceptional service to our customers, managing transactions accurately, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be comfortable with POS systems, and have a passion for retail sales. Bilingual abilities and supervising experience are a plus, as they help enhance customer interactions and team support.

Duties

  • Operate POS systems efficiently to process customer transactions, including cash handling and credit card payments
  • Greet customers warmly and assist with their inquiries using excellent phone etiquette
  • Upsell products and promote store promotions to increase sales opportunities
  • Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about merchandise
  • Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
  • Assist in inventory management through stocking and merchandising tasks
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Support supervisory staff with training new team members or supervising during peak hours when needed
  • Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and welcoming at all times

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering preferred; experience with POS systems is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to handle customer interactions professionally
  • Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and retail math calculations
  • Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve a diverse customer base effectively
  • Experience in grocery stores or similar retail environments is advantageous
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Friendly attitude with a focus on providing excellent customer service
  • Supervising experience is beneficial but not required; leadership qualities are appreciated
