OUR ROLE
We are in search of a positive and dependable Steward, responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods, while ensuring the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe, and sanitary facility.
Key accountabilities include:
Consistently provide the highest quality of service to our customers and associates, alike.
Follow all kitchen policies, procedures and service standards.
Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of all areas of the dish room, kitchen aisle, and dock area.
Break down trays, set up the dish machine, wash dishware, and sort/store all clean china, glass and silver using proper procedures.
Empty trashcans, washing them inside and out.
Be aware of soap consumptions and costs.
Break down dish machine and clean inside and out.
Always operate equipment safely and according to policy.
Clean all breakdown tables.
Assure proper cutting boards, micro clean, gloves are being used during the shift.
Make sure all deliveries are put away and rotated.
Clean tile walls and baseboards.
Ensure good communication between Kitchen and service team members.
Endeavor to work in a unified and collaborative way - one that fosters teamwork.
Comply with health and safety regulations, following all safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions.
YOUR STORY
Previous experience with dishwashing or cleaning experience in a similar restaurant operation.
Someone with an outstanding work ethic, along with a track record of reliability, punctuality and an approachable demeanor, with a strong commitment to safety.
Able to follow oral and written instructions.
Able to work well under pressure and enjoy a fast-paced environment.
Able to work with chemicals and cleaning supplies.
Understanding of WHMIS.
Excellent communicator who values teamwork and collaboration.
Able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Physically able to stand for long periods of time and lift or carry objects up to 40 pounds or more.
