Description

The Quality Control Maintenance/Customer Experience Inspector will be responsible for the quality monitoring, inspecting, and testing of operational standards.  This individual will collaborate with the management team, customers, suppliers, partners and involved stakeholders.  



Reporting to the Quality Control Maintenance/Customer Experience Supervisor, will be responsible for ensuring compliance with processes, products and system specifications as defined by the Quality Management System. 



Responsibilities

Confirm that all HSE policies, processes and procedures are being complied  

Responsible for ensuring processes, products, parts, materials, and systems meet all quality requirements set by the customer and business. Identify, record, and report all quality issues noting potential root causes.  Recommend improvement measures to the business to ensure quality standards are met 

Possess the ability to understand documentation and instructions and measure quality against such documents 

Maintain and document records of testing, audits and inspections ensuring accuracy and completeness 

Support the use of the Quality Management System and other quality control measures 

Perform inspections, audits and testing as required by the business 

Compile statistical data to determine and maintain the quality and reliability of processes, products, parts, and materials 

Support all continuous improvement activities relating to quality and the ISO9001 certification.  Understand overall customer satisfaction and support initiatives to ensure a positive experience.  Work with representatives from the customer Quality team as required 

Promote quality awareness on quality activities planned for the project and support required quality training 

Able to use measuring equipment as required during the inspection process 

Ability to develop KPI's and present data 

Prepare senior management relating any potential complications 

Work with the team to prepare and create recurrent reports that are requested by operations or higher  

Comply with the company's applicable policies and procedures as well as human resources' guidelines 

Qualifications

Ability to build strong rapport with the team and unionized maintenance personnel  

5 to10 years experience in Quality Control Inspection and/or a related field.   Rail locomotive and passenger coach experience and knowledge is an asset 

Experience using quality and problem-solving tools.   

Experience performing audits 

Background of accomplishing business strategies 

Diploma or degree relating to the field of expertise 

Nice to have: 



Experience working in an unionized environment 

Familiarity with other industries such as Aerospace  

Experience working in the rail industry with a comprehensive knowledge of rail equipment
