Job Responsibilities

• Safely operate tractor mowers along transmission and distribution corridors.
• Inspect, diagnose, and perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment.
• Transport all equipment to job sites using commercial vehicles and trailers.
• Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues promptly.
• Collaborate with mechanics and other technicians to complete tasks efficiently.
• Operate and maintain power tools, hand tools, and heavy equipment safely.
• Set up and maintain traffic control to protect workers, motorists, and pedestrians using signage, paddles, and flashing wands.
• Follow all Health and Safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Maintain a positive attitude and professionalism with team members and clients.

Qualifications

• Experience in professional mowing or mowing along BC Hydro right-of-ways (required).
• BC driver's licence, Class 5.
• Experience operating trailers and heavy equipment (required).
• Mechanical knowledge and experience performing equipment maintenance and inspections.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
• Knowledge and application of Health & Safety practices.
• Availability Monday to Friday, with some weekend work as required.

Compensation

• Pay range: CA$28.00 – CA$40.00 per hour, based on experience.

Location / Travel Requirement

• In-person work may require travel to various sites across Vancouver Island.
• Candidates must have reliable transportation and be able to reach designated marshal points or meeting locations as assigned.

Pay: $28.00-$40.00 per hour
