Detailed Role: Senior Project Management Specialist

  • Oversee the project in all phases ensuring optimal use of resources and complete project completion within agreed time and performance parameters.
  • Develop project plans and prioritize work to achieve objectives, collaborating with project resources and coordinating with other teams as required.
  • Be responsible for the delivery of the defined scope and work plans to achieve the project objectives in the required quality and time, while managing risks, issues and interdependencies.
  • Prepare and present proposals, plans, tables, status reports and risk registers to facilitate the analysis, visualization and communication of progress, challenges, issues and problems, using various project management tools.
  • Collaborate with external vendors, stakeholders, and project team members to identify project challenges and issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Develop and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with stakeholders and business partners to fully understand customer needs and support the resolution of requests and concerns.
  • Autonomously manage unforeseen project activities, such as rescheduling and recalibration.
  • Provide project management expertise for all project activities, applying recognized best practices and methodologies.
  • Provide regular updates on progress and value delivered to senior management and/or the sponsor/client.
  • Ensure that all project deliverables are completed, including associated documentation and processes.
  • Carry out any other required activities or deliverables.

Qualifications and skills required

  • University or college degree in information technology, project management, business administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of recent and demonstrated experience as a Senior Project Management Specialist overseeing large projects (more than 40 resources, over several years) in a complex environment.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience with Agile or hybrid (Agile/Waterfall) approaches to deliver strategic projects.
  • Strong business acumen, including the ability to identify and communicate value and translate business needs into project objectives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple initiatives and interdependencies simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve objectives.

Additional qualifications (assets)

  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of large projects/initiatives in the financial sector
  • Certification PMI (Project Management Institute).
