Please proceed using the link: POSITION OVERVIEW:Startec Refrigeration Service is currently recruiting an Parts Technician to work at our Edmonton, Alberta location (4403 – 68th Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB ) The Parts Technician is responsible for sourcing parts required by the service mechanics and customers for over-the-counter sales. This role acts as the main point of contact between our service mechanics and customers and suppliers. In addition, the Parts Technician will maintain appropriate inventory levels for our commonly used items during day-to-day operations KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI):PROCUREMENT (Weighting 45%)
  • Source, and process purchase orders efficiently, ensuring details are accurate for contract, quoted and ad-hoc service and project work.
  • Request quotations from suppliers and review them for accuracy and compliance as requested by the Sales team.
  • Process purchase orders efficiently, ensuring details are accurate based on requests from Projects team.
  • Approve invoices and verify coding requirements for all purchase orders to ensure proper division allocation.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and addressing any supply chain issues.
  • Track order status, communicate delays to relevant teams, and follow up to expedite urgent orders.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, bulk purchasing, or supplier discounts.
  • Support continuous improvement of procurement processes and documentation.
  • Assist with reconciling purchase orders with invoices to ensure accuracy and proper accounting.
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT (Weighting 25%)
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels of commonly used parts and components.
  • Review weekly cycle counts, address discrepancies, and handle inventory adjustments.
  • Monitor consumable inventory, implement control measures, and manage restocking procedures.
  • Create asset cards for new tools and equipment, Tag tools and equip trackers.
ADMINISTRATION (Weighting 30%)
  • Work with Customers to source parts and solutions based on their requests.
  • Provide quotes based on inventory levels and supplier lead times.
  • Process customer Purchase orders and provide accurate confirmations
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Journeyman Parts Technician certificate or equivalent preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in procurement or parts management, ideally in construction, Oil & Gas or manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in procurement processes, software, and tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices; familiarity with construction materials and equipment preferred.
