Baseball Annotation & Analysis Expert

Role Responsibilities

  • Review and refine AI-generated baseball video annotations including play calls, fielding actions, and pitch outcomes.
  • Label and validate events such as pitches, hits, fielding plays, base running, and scoring sequences.
  • Verify timing accuracy between video clips and described actions (e.g., pitch release, contact, tag, throw).
  • Ensure contextual precision, identifying subtle differences (e.g., sacrifice fly vs. routine flyout).
  • Provide structured, objective feedback to improve AI understanding of baseball-specific terminology and sequences.
  • Collaborate asynchronously with researchers and engineers to enhance model training data quality.

Qualifications
Must-Have

  • Deep familiarity with baseball—through playing, coaching, umpiring, scouting, or analytical experience.
  • Solid understanding of rules, player positioning, and play terminology (e.g., double plays, balks, bunts, stolen bases).
  • High attention to detail and ability to describe baseball sequences precisely and consistently.
  • Comfortable working independently on remote data annotation platforms.

Preferred

  • Prior experience with AI training, data labeling, or video annotation tools.
  • Recognition or certification in baseball (e.g., collegiate athlete, MLB-affiliated, USA Baseball certification).
  • Experience with sports analytics, video review systems, or scouting software (e.g., TrackMan, Synergy, or Statcast).
