Job Summary

The Depot & Gate Coordinator is responsible for supporting depot operations by managing gate activities, monitoring yard movements, and coordinating with drivers, dispatch, and warehouse teams. This role ensures that all inbound and outbound units are accurately documented, securely processed, and efficiently moved within the yard.

Key Responsibilities

Gate Operations

  • Verify and document all inbound and outbound trucks, trailers, and containers.
  • Check driver credentials, trip documents, and load details upon entry and exit.
  • Issue gate passes, record unit numbers, and maintain accurate gate logs.
  • Ensure compliance with company security protocols and yard safety rules.

Depot & Yard Coordination

  • Monitor yard activities and assist in directing units to designated areas.
  • Coordinate with the dispatch and operations team regarding available trailers, container status, and yard movements.
  • Maintain updated yard inventory, including trailer/ container locations, damage reports, and availability status.
  • Report any irregularities, damages, or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare and update daily activity logs, yard reports, and movement sheets.
  • Ensure accuracy of unit status in the system (loaded, empty, under repair, etc.).
  • Perform data entry and maintain organized records of gate transactions.

Customer & Driver Interaction

  • Assist drivers with check-in/check-out procedures professionally and efficiently.
  • Provide timely updates to dispatch, warehouse team, and customers when needed.
  • Address inquiries related to yard availability, gate processes, and unit status.

Other Duties

  • Support depot administrative functions as required.
  • Assist in implementing safety guidelines and operational procedures.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by the Operations Manager.

Qualifications

  • Experience in trucking, logistics, depot, or yard operations preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of transportation documents (BOL, trip sheets, trailer numbers).
  • Proficient in MS Office and basic computer systems.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced yard/ depot environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays, if required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.76-$25.00 per hour
