Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team experienced estimating team in Western Canada. Based in Prince George, BC, this role is vital to our mission of providing cost-effective, construction solutions. The Senior Estimator will play a key part in project planning and cost analysis, ensuring our projects meet the highest standards of sustainability and quality.
Responsibilities
- Develop accurate project estimates by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to establish budgets and scope.
- Utilize HeavyBid and other estimating software to prepare detailed cost proposals.
- Conduct negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to secure optimal pricing.
- Ensure estimates align with environmental sustainability goals and safety standards.
- Review project plans for potential risks and opportunities for cost savings.
- Support the bidding process by preparing comprehensive bid packages.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and techniques.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Senior Estimator or similar role within the construction industry.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and project management tools.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable terms.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of environmentally sustainable construction practices is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in remote or challenging environments.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
- 10+ years of estimating experience in Heavy Civil Construction. (Bridges experience is an asset)
