About the jobIn this role you will acquire knowledge through supported training on student financial assistance programs, policies and procedures, relating to loans, grants, bursaries/awards, and scholarships. Come and make a difference, help students access vital financial aid, ensuring they can pursue their education and achieve their dreams

What you bring to the teamMandatory
- You must possess oral and written French language skills at the advanced level. Your proficiency level will be confirmed before hire.
You can:
- provide optimum service, explain information and meet customer needs resulting in a positive experience
- interact tactfully and courteously with the students, parents, staff, MPPs, and financial aid representatives
- explain guidelines and procedures, write concise correspondence, and apply empathy and patience to every customer
You can:
- probe for information, assess situations, and take appropriate actions to resolve OSAP application and eligibility inquiries
- independently interpret and apply legislation, directives and policies related to financial aid
- provide information and assistance on student loans, bursaries, grants, and scholarships
You can:
- work well with colleagues in a team environment
- assist in training new or temporary staff and sharing skills and knowledge with members of the unit
- assist with various other shared clerical tasks (i.e. receive and distribute mail, data entry of forms and applications etc.)
You are proficient with:
- Microsoft Office, database programs, and can calculate manually and navigate online computer software programs

In this bilingual seasonal role, you will be compensated, in addition to your salary as follows:
- 4.6% of gross pay in lieu of statutory holidays
- 5.75% of gross pay in lieu of vacation
- supplementary Health and Hospital (SH&H) Plan (which includes vision care and hearing aid benefits), Dental Plan, and Basic Life Insurance Plan.
- accrual of attendance credits at the rate of 1.25 days per calendar month of full attendance to be used in the event that an employee is unable to attend to work for reason of illness or injury
- you may, at your expense, participate in the OPSEU Pension Plan
