About the Role

Westman Fire Protection is expanding its Fire Suppression and Hood Cleaning division and is seeking a motivated Fire Suppression Technician to join our growing team. As an authorized Ansul Suppression Distributor and an IKECA-certified company, this role is responsible for the inspection, installation, servicing, and repair of fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, and kitchen exhaust systems in accordance with local and national fire codes.

This position reports to the Fire Alarm Manager and plays a key role in protecting businesses and facilities throughout the Westman region.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Fire suppression certification
  • NFPA 10 fire extinguisher certification

Experience and Other Requirements:

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Experience inspecting, installing, and servicing fire suppression systems
  • Experience with kitchen suppression systems and hood cleaning considered an asset
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Availability for emergency callouts
  • Flexibility to work overnight and weekends for hood cleaning services
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong attention to detail and safety
  • Reliable, professional, and customer-focused

Key Responsibilities:

Perform inspections, installations, repairs, and service orders for fire suppression systems

Design, quote, install, and inspect kitchen suppression systems

Inspect, maintain, recharge, and hydro-test fire extinguishers in compliance with NFPA 10

Inspect and service kitchen hoods and exhaust fans

Respond to emergency callouts as required

Travel to job sites and work independently as directed
