Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Bakery Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support daily bakery operations by assisting with food preparation, customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, excellent time management skills, and a commitment to food safety and sanitation standards. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced bakery setting while providing exceptional service to our customers.

Duties

  • Assist in preparing baked goods and other food items according to recipes and quality standards
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and upselling bakery products
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, equipment, and customer areas in compliance with food safety regulations
  • Restock display cases and storage areas as needed to ensure product availability
  • Manage time effectively to ensure timely production and service during busy periods
  • Physically putting stock orders away
  • Setting up for the next days bake

Requirements

  • Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or bakery environments is preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of food handling procedures, sanitation standards, and food safety regulations
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during high-volume periods
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting large bread boxes repetitively
  • Kitchen experience or food industry background is advantageous but not mandatory
  • A positive attitude, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset are essential for success in this role

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
