DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Working in a Fountain Tire store location, the Manager in Training will work closely with several Store Managers and the Operations team to prepare for a leadership position within a Fountain Tire store location. The Manager in Training will receive coaching and experience to:
- Lead the ongoing development of strong customer relationships by equipping a team to provide superior customer experience at every opportunity.
- Grow the Fountain Tire business by sourcing and developing an incremental customer base with a focus on gaining market share.
- Maintain store operations in compliance with the Store Operating Agreement, and the Code of Ethics.
- Build and develop a skilled and knowledgeable team that is aware of, and leads in, store operational procedure best practices, company policies & procedures, and both government and industry regulations and legislation.
- Grow and develop a progressive team through industry and career focused Learning and Development, ongoing performance feedback, and open communication.
- Identify and prepare successors for key store positions.
- Source vendors and suppliers to effectively operate the store location.
- Ensure proper maintenance and protection of store facilities, vehicles, equipment, inventory and other physical assets of Fountain Tire. This includes providing for required reporting and record keeping.
- Protect and enhance the Fountain Tire brand within the store's market.
- Complete and submit an annual budget; this includes forecasting revenue, expenditures, and talent requirements. Accurately track budgeted numbers throughout the fiscal year with particular attention to achieving operational benchmarks.
- Act as a champion for the Fountain Tire Program and Culture and take advantage of the full benefits of the Program offered by Head Office.
- Ensure the Program of Safety Excellence is implemented, adhered to and kept evergreen according to program and legislated requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Relevant experience in Tire and or Automotive industries at the Management Level.
- Sound knowledge of effective operational procedures in a related industry.
- A customer focused approach (willingness to serve) with exceptional communication skills and ability to develop and maintain effective relationships.
- Proven track record in initiating sales opportunities and growing market share.
- Demonstrated ability to set goals and develop action plans to achieve results.
- Proven ability to attract, develop and retain an engaged team.
- Make every effort to involve yourself within business and community.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and drive.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience as a Store Manager, Assistant Manager or Mechanical Services Manager is required. Candidates must have experience from the Tire and or Automotive Industries.
- Diploma and 10 years of experience in a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Proven track record in Retail and or Commercial tire sales and applications.
- Certification as an Automotive Service Technician (Journeyman Red Seal) would be an asset.
- Formal and real-life industry experiences.
