We are seeking a Policy Analyst to join our team.

The Opportunity

As a Policy Analyst, your primary function is to provide policy, and data expertise and support to advance key projects within LABC. The Policy Analyst will help project managers and teams initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control projects, with a specific focus on data analysis and policy development.

The Policy Analyst understands the strategic and long-range goals of the organization, including its dedication to the principles of truth and reconciliation and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and is committed to supporting the creation of more equitable and inclusive policy.

Key accountabilities include, but aren't limited to:

  • Supports the development and implementation of new policies and procedures to help advance major projects within LABC.
  • Prepares briefing materials, issue papers, position papers, and submissions, presentations and correspondence on matters related to LABC projects and mandate.
  • Support project managers and teams to develop project management documents, including business cases, issue papers, detailed scope definition, budgets, resource plans, project schedules, project reports and forecasts.
  • Develops and implements project plans, schedules and task tracking systems for policy development projects.
  • Designs, develops and supports evaluation frameworks, logic models, and performance measurement plans.
  • Defines outcomes and develops appropriate evaluation methodologies and tools to meet organizational needs.

The Ideal Candidate

You have:

  • Degree in public policy/administration or a related discipline
  • Post-graduate education is considered an asset
  • 3+ years experience as a policy or project analyst or in a related role
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience in policy development, data analysis, and research
  • Demonstrated experience with project planning and supporting the implementation of plans to meet goals and deadlines
  • OR an equivalent combination of education/experience
