A Food Production Labourer helps make food products by handling ingredients and working on the production line. This job involves measuring and pouring ingredients into machines, packaging finished food items into bags or boxes, and assisting with the smooth operation of processing equipment. The role also includes cleaning work areas and equipment to keep everything safe and hygienic.

You'll need to be comfortable standing for long periods and doing repetitive tasks in a fast-moving environment. Most training is provided on the job, so no special education is usually required, but being able to follow instructions, do simple math, and work well with others will help you succeed.

What You'll Do

  • Measure and dump ingredients into machines for mixing or processing
  • Pack finished products neatly and securely for shipping or storage
  • Assist machine operators and keep production lines running smoothly
  • Check products and packaging to make sure they meet quality standards
  • Clean your work area and equipment regularly to maintain safety and cleanliness
  • Follow all food safety rules and company policies

What You Need

  • Ability to stand and work on your feet for most of your shift
  • Willingness to do repetitive tasks with care and focus
  • Basic math skills and ability to read instructions
  • Good communication and a team-oriented attitude
  • Ready to work in a sometimes noisy or busy environment with possible food odors
