Scarborough Ontario MP Z Canada Atlantic Packaging Products Full time $60,000 - $90,000 per year

Primary Purpose  

​​Ensure operation of mechanical systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and troubleshooting problems on conveyors, machinery, with use of manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, etc.​ 

Key Accountabilities  

Maintenance 

  • Focus on minimizing downtime through preventive maintenance and good troubleshooting techniques. 
  • Prepare maintenance reports by Make recommendations as necessary for improvements. 
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending education workshops.  
  • Repair and replace as necessary pumps, valves, motors, etc. 

Quality Control 

  • Perform quality checks on all work performed. 
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety and housekeeping practices, and use of personal protective equipment. 
  • Prepare maintenance reports by Make recommendations as necessary for improvements. 

Other Responsibilities 

  • ​​Maintain documentation as required by Atlantic Packaging ​
  • Required to utilize documentation in CMMS.  
  • Install new machines and equipment. 
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results and other duties as assigned.  
  • Inform production workers of routine mechanical preventive maintenance plans. 

Required Qualifications  

Education 

  • ​​Must have a valid Ontario Industrial Mechanic License - 433A​
  • Red Seal Journeyman certification 

Experience 

  • Minimum 2–3-year previous experience in a manufacturing industry 
  • Exposure to mechanical devices, pneumatic controls and welding/cutting. 
  • All position welding preferred (stainless steel pipe, guard repairs, etc.). 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities 

  • Troubleshooting skills 
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with all employees 
  • Must be able to read mechanical drawings.
