Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Child Care Provider to provide supportive and nurturing care to children in our private residence. This role involves assisting with daily activities, promoting physical and social development, and ensuring a safe and positive environment. Ideal candidates will have a genuine interest in working with children and possess a strong sense of responsibility and empathy.

Duties

  • Supervise and care for children in our private residence.
  • Assist with daily routines such as feeding, bathing, and dressing.
  • Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals for children.
  • Support children in engaging in educational and recreational activities (games, crafts, reading).
  • Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to foster independence and confidence.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home to prevent accidents or injuries.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties related to the children's care (laundry, tidying play areas).

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year of experience in childcare or a related field (private household service/home support).
  • Personal Suitability: Patience, compassion, reliability, and initiative.
  • Security: Criminal record check (Vulnerable Sector) will be required.
  • Language: English.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.50 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Toronto, ON M6A 2J1: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
