Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Manager to oversee daily operations in our bustling restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food industry knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role is vital in ensuring smooth kitchen functions, maintaining high standards of food safety, and fostering a positive team environment. Previous experience in restaurant management, food preparation, and hospitality is essential to succeed in this position.

Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Manage kitchen staff through effective team management, including interviewing, hiring, training, and scheduling.
  • Oversee food handling procedures to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards.
  • Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling accurately.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of ingredients and supplies.
  • Enforce health and safety policies to create a safe working environment for all staff members.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead by example in hospitality, serving guests when necessary and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally to uphold the restaurant's reputation.
  • Maintain detailed records of daily operations, including sales, waste, and labor costs.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in food service or restaurant management; supervising experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
  • Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms; cash handling experience required.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
  • Background in hospitality or hotel experience is advantageous; barista experience or restaurant experience is a plus.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
