Andrew Cooper Incorporated is seeking an Engineer in Training to support field operations commissioning and asset lifecycle management across multiple client and company locations. This role is designed to extend the reach of the Professional Engineer by gathering accurate field information supporting on site maintenance commissioning and compliance activities and integrating findings into the company systems.

This is not a desk based EIT role. The position requires travel independent work and strong situational awareness in industrial and manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will operate with a high level of professionalism accountability and judgment while working under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.

Work Schedule

Project based schedule with flexibility depending on site requirements travel and commissioning activities. Work is managed based on deliverables and operational needs rather than fixed daily hours.

Primary Responsibilities

Travel to client and company locations to support inspections commissioning and maintenance activities

Gather field measurements photographs observations and operational data

Support on site maintenance coordination verification and follow up

Assist with commissioning of new or modified equipment under engineering direction

Document findings accurately and upload data into the company CES system

Prepare clear field notes summaries and reports for Professional Engineer review

Identify issues risks or deviations and escalate appropriately

Support asset lifecycle tracking compliance documentation and audits

Coordinate with technologists technicians manufacturing staff and management as required

Technical and Professional Requirements

Registered Engineer in Training with APEGA or eligible to register

Mechanical engineering degree or closely related discipline

Strong ability to observe document and communicate technical information

Comfort working in industrial shop and field environments

Ability to travel independently and manage work across multiple sites

Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Strong professional judgment reliability and accountability

Preferred Experience

Exposure to commissioning inspections or maintenance activities

Experience working around industrial equipment manufacturing or construction

Familiarity with digital systems tablets and mobile data collection

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently while remaining aligned with engineering direction

Professional Development

This role supports progression toward Professional Engineer designation. Work performed contributes to engineering experience requirements under APEGA when properly documented and supervised.

The position is structured to develop judgment responsibility and field competence while operating under the oversight of a Professional Engineer.

Company Vehicle

A company vehicle may be assigned depending on operational needs role requirements and early performance. Eligibility for a company vehicle will be evaluated based on business need driving record and demonstrated responsibility.

Compensation

Annual salary of fifty four thousand dollars per year.

Benefits

Benefits eligibility is available after six months of employment for employees who meet the company definition of full time status.
