Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Hydrovac Operator to join our construction and excavation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating hydrovac trucks and related heavy equipment to perform excavation, potholing, and utility locating tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy machinery, construction safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in various job site conditions. The Hydrovac Operator plays a critical role in ensuring precise excavation while maintaining safety standards on-site.
Duties
- Operate hydrovac truck to perform excavation tasks with precision and safety.
- Conduct mechanical inspections of equipment prior to use to ensure proper functioning.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of work zones, including site cleanup and equipment maintenance.
- Coordinate with project managers and other team members to execute excavation plans efficiently.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including depth measurements and site conditions.
- Follow all safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and construction site procedures.
- Perform additional tasks such as assisting horizontal drilling or commercial driving when required for specific projects.
Experience
- Proven experience operating hydrovac trucks in a construction or utility setting.
- Knowledge of horizontal drilling techniques is a plus.
- Commercial driving experience with appropriate licenses is preferred.
- Familiarity with Rival Hydrovacs is advantageous.
- Prior work in construction environments involving heavy equipment operation ensures readiness for this role.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 84 per week
Work Location: In person
