Temporary position for 12 months

As a corporate underwriting manager, you're responsible for product development, profitable portfolio growth, monitoring underwriting performance and presenting strategic recommendations. You work with key players, contribute to the strategic plan and guide your team to ensure their development. You'll be required to:

  • Actively help develop, improve and adapt insurance products to meet market needs and the organization's strategic objectives.

  • Define and implement strategies to ensure sustained and profitable portfolio growth, taking into account market trends, competition and internal capacity.

  • Prepare and present analyses, recommendations and strategic directions to internal committees, particularly in terms of product development and underwriting performance.

  • Work closely with internal parties (actuarial services, sales, operations, marketing, etc.) and external parties (brokers, partners, etc.) to ensure objectives are aligned and operations run smoothly.

  • Actively help define, implement and monitor the division's strategic plan, ensuring consistency between underwriting objectives and those of the organization.

  • Monitor and analyze the division's underwriting performance using key indicators and in-depth analyses to identify opportunities for improvement and resolve gaps.

  • Support team members by ensuring their professional development and performance management, and by fostering a stimulating and collaborative work environment.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science or other relevant field

  • A minimum of nine years of relevant experience

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Experience in property and casual insurance

  • Knowledge of French is required
