Your Role In Supporting Vancity's Vision And Priorities
As Senior Manager, IT Risk Assurance and Transformation, you will lead strategic and transformative initiatives within Internal Audit to further streamline and modernize IA's operations through automation, data analytics, and adoption of RPA/AI. You will also oversee the development and execution of the technology risk audit and advisory plan, ensuring proactive engagement on emerging risks and regulatory requirements, while directing technology assurance and project advisory engagements to deliver high-impact insights.
This is a Full-Time, Permanent role and will report directly to the VP, Internal Audit. Our head office is based in Vancouver, but we are open to candidates in BC and Ontario. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands when needed.
How You'll Make An Impact
Strategic Alignment & Delivery
- Support the VP, Internal Audit in creating and implementing Internal Audit's technology and transformation strategy in service of the broader enterprise strategy and priorities.
- Translate the technology risk assurance strategy into annual audit plans and schedules, considering alternative paths and optimal use of current resources and infrastructure to achieve strategic objectives
Transformation Initiatives
- Identify and implement technology initiatives within Internal Audit to further streamline and modernize internal audit operations to enable a more proactive approach to providing assurance, advice, insights, and foresight. These initiatives include advancing our use of data analytics, and adoption of automation and AI integration.
Engagement Oversight & Team Development
- Develop and oversee the technology assurance and advisory plan, ensuring continued alignment with strategic priorities and responsiveness to emerging risks
- Contribute to informing the enterprise-level technology risk audit opinion and provide input to the overall audit opinion for executive and board reporting
- Oversee technology assurance and advisory engagements to ensure quality, timeliness, and relevance, with comprehensive coverage of key risks and high-impact reporting
- Lead advisory engagements on key transformation projects, including scoping, prioritization, execution, and presentation of results to senior management
- Ensure current and future IT audit and advisory engagements are appropriately resourced, and offer guidance and mentorship to support the growth and development of internal audit staff
Stakeholder Relationships
- Attend and participate in technology executive and operational meetings to further integrate internal audit activities into key business operations and decisions
- Effectively collaborate with executive and senior leaders, co-sourced partners, and the VP, Internal Audit to address audit issues, emerging risks, and opportunities for improvement
What You'll Bring To The Team
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in IT risk assurance and technology transformation, with at least 5 years in a leadership (people manager) role
- Proven experience in leading IT audits and providing real-time advice on large, complex technology projects in regulated organizations.
- Experience in leading digital transformation through automation (RPA), AI integration, data analytics, particularly within internal audit environments
- Certifications such as CISA – Certified Information Systems Auditor or CIA – Certified Internal Auditor are required
- Solid knowledge of the concepts, practices, and techniques of risk-based auditing (from planning through to reporting) and a strong understanding of relevant standards such as the Global Internal Audit Standards, IT governance and control frameworks such as National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). This also includes strong understanding of project management methodology in both agile and waterfall approaches.
- Strong understanding of business and technology processes related to a financial institution.
- Working knowledge of regulations relevant to financial institutions, including those published by BCFSA, OSFI, and FINTRAC.

What You'll Earn
The salary band for this role is $120,000 to $158,000. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
