We're looking for an enthusiastic and caring After-School Program Leader to join our team.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The After-School Program Leader supports children ages 5 – 9 through structured tutoring sessions, guided play, and hands-on enrichment activities.

You'll help students with homework, lead engaging educational games, and create a safe, welcoming space where every child feels seen, supported, and inspired.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Supervise and engage children in daily after-school activities, promoting safety, inclusion, and fun.
  • Provide homework help and light tutoring in literacy, numeracy, and other core subjects.
  • Lead creative learning activities such as art, STEM challenges, group games, and mindfulness exercises.
  • Encourage teamwork, confidence, and respect through positive role modeling and gentle guidance.
  • Communicate with parents and caregivers about daily highlights and student progress.
  • Support the Back to the Basics philosophy of balancing education, wellness, and personal growth.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Experience working with children (ages 5 – 9) in educational, recreational, or childcare settings.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • A caring, energetic, and reliable personality.
  • Ability to maintain a positive, structured environment with patience and creativity.

Preferred:

  • Diploma or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child & Youth Care, or related field.
  • Experience with homework support, tutoring, or educational programming.
  • Background in wellness, physical activity, or mindfulness practices.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

SCHEDULE: Weekdays (after-school hours, typically 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.)
