THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for an Estimator to join our team with a strong background in manufacturing and construction processes. Reporting to the Director of Estimating, the successful candidate will play a critical role in developing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and supporting bid strategies.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Prepare detailed and accurate project estimates based on drawings, specifications, and scope of work.
• Analyze proposals, drawings, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Collaborate internal teams including engineering, project management, and purchasing.
• Work closely with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and maintain up-to-date cost databases.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options to improve bid competitiveness.
• Support the preparation of tender and proposal documents, including detailed breakdowns and narrative justifications.
• Participate in project hand-off meetings to ensure continuity and clarity between estimating and operations teams.
• Maintain awareness of current market trends and pricing in materials, labor, and subcontracted work.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the estimating process.

EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• College Diploma in Architectural Technology, Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
• 5+ years of estimating experience within glazing manufacturing or construction environment.
• Strong knowledge of estimation tools, material take-offs, and bid strategies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; advanced Excel skills are essential.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify risks and opportunities.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external vendors.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
