The Opportunity

We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Underwriter to join our team in Montreal (near Green Line - Peel Metro). This full-time, on-site role (34 hours/week) is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working closely with clients and cross-functional teams.

Compensation:

$45,000 - $55,000 yearly

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, track, and prioritize the underwriting process in order to maintain timely submission based on established guidelines and risk tolerance.
  • Examine all applications, disclosures, and documentation for accuracy and regulatory and compliance guidelines (AML, KYC, and other relevant regulations).
  • Determine the creditworthiness of individuals and businesses and identify potential fraud prevention measures.
  • Correspond with applicants on behalf of the underwriting team (phone and email communications).

Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills are preferred.
  • Great attention to detail, decision-making, and data analysis skills are needed.
  • Knowledge of credit risk assessment and payment processing.
  • Familiarity with AML/KYC regulation and compliance.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but will accept relevant previous experience.
