Bistro worker

Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and dedicated Bistro Worker to join our team in Nakusp. (*shared employee housing available*) This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, food safety, and creating a positive experience for guests. Previous restaurant or food industry experience is preferred but not required; we welcome motivated individuals eager to learn. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food handling, customer service, and hospitality operations within a vibrant setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide attentive service throughout their visit
• Prepare and serve food and beverages according to established standards
• Handle food with proper safety and hygiene practices in compliance with food safety regulations
• Take customer orders accurately, process transactions efficiently, and manage cash or POS systems
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, dining areas, and service stations
• Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts
• Assist with food preparation tasks when necessary, including assembling dishes or beverages
• Ensure a welcoming atmosphere by engaging with guests professionally and courteously

Requirements

• Previous experience in a restaurant, food service, or hospitality setting is advantageous but not mandatory
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
• Knowledge of food handling safety standards and procedures
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork orientation
• Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or holidays if required
• Must be at least 18 years old (if applicable) or meet local age requirements for food handling roles
• Willingness to learn new skills related to food preparation, serving, and food safety standards
• Dish-pit duties

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.85-$20.00 per year
