ROLE IN A NUTSHELL
GreenShield-NKS is a specialty pharmacy and healthcare company focused on the handling and service of injectable, infused and biologic medications. Greenshield provides high quality service by strategically focusing on chronic autoimmune and neurological conditions, such as: rheumatoid arthritis, gastrointestinal diseases, dermatological diseases, stroke rehabilitation, migraines, and multiple sclerosis. We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our multi-disciplinary team. The nurse will administer infusion therapy for GreenShield-NKS in Ottawa:
Roles and responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional patient and customer service in keeping with GreenShield-NKS Health values.
- Administer intravenous therapy and monitor patients under the care of a physician.
- Administer intramuscular vaccination and TB skin testing as ordered
- Take appropriate action in situations where the safety and well-being of the patient may be compromised.
- Adhere to best work safety practices and procedures
- Report Adverse Events as needed
- Adhere to nursing practices as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). Commitment to continuing education
- Minimum of 1 year experience with IVs, hospital nursing preferred
- Experience with IV antibiotics, and biologics preferred
- Experience with Pediatric patient population an asset
Skills & Qualifications
- Currently registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
- Current BLS required. ACLS an asset
- Proficiency in English, both verbal and written required.
- Valid Ontario driver's license and reliable vehicle required.
- Excellent patient assessment and teaching skills.
- Possesses the physical ability to perform the day-to-day duties described in the duties and responsibilities.
