With the largest integrated North American fleet of Remote Confined Space Monitoring (RCSM) and industrial ventilation, we can replace conventional safety personnel required near the workface and monitor the space remotely, in a safer and more effective manner.

Job Description

Reporting to the Operations Manager(s), the Operations Lead is responsible for supervising RCSM and Ventilation Technicians while coordinating project activities, schedules, resources, deliverables, and on-site systems. This role ensures effective communication with teams, clients, and contractors, while supporting safety objectives, incident response, and continuous improvement. The Operations Lead provides technical troubleshooting, system testing, hazard management, and documentation oversight to maintain safe, compliant, and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities include monitoring project progress, maintaining documentation, supporting budgets and resource allocation, and coordinating installation verification and functionality testing of technology. The Operations Lead promotes a safety-conscious culture, offers mentorship, identifies risks, recommends improvements, and ensures all project tasks are completed within scope, on time, and in accordance with established standards and legislation.

This position is a 6-month, project-based contract, and will require travel to site for a significant portion of the assignment. Accommodations will be provided for the duration of the on-site project assignment. Project pre-planning will be conducted at our head office in Edmonton, AB

• Represent Proveo professionally, demonstrating leadership and ethical conduct.
• Coordinate project activities, timelines, resources, and deliverables.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and documentation.
• Monitor progress and provide status updates to stakeholders.
• Facilitate communication between internal teams, clients, and vendors.
• Identify project risks and support corrective actions.
• Track project performance and recommend improvements.
• Support budget and resource planning activities.
• Provide technical expertise and troubleshoot system issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technical requirements.
• Oversee RCSM and Ventilation Technician performance and mentorship.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols, policies, and legislation.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience supervising teams in industrial environments.
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements and compliance.
• Experience with confined space operations is considered an asset.
• Preference given to candidates with 5+ years' experience in the oil and gas industry.
• PMP designation or equivalent combination of experience and education is considered an asset.

The following certifications are considered an asset to comply with potential site requirements:

• Valid driver's license
• Acceptable driver's abstract
• Common Safety Orientation (Energy Safety Canada)
• CSTS-2020
• Standard First Aid and CPR
• Confined Space Entry
• Fall Protection

Physical Demands

You must be able to perform the following duties continuously throughout a 12-hour shift in both hot and cold temperature environments:

• Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
• Pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs
• Trunk rotation
• Walking on uneven ground
• Climbing ladders
• Working at heights up to 100 ft
• Crouching and squatting
• Maneuvering through manways of confined spaces
• A drug and alcohol test, mask fit test, and/or a fitness test may be required for site access in accordance with site regulations.
