Security Supervisor

We are seeking a professional and reliable Security Site Supervisor to lead daily security operations at an outdoor mall in Halton Hills. This is a full-time role responsible for overseeing site security activities, supervising a team of at least 3-6 staff, conducting patrols, overseeing public safety and security systems, and maintaining accurate reports and logs while supporting both luxury and non-luxury retail stores within an outdoor environment

The ideal candidate has experience working within the public sector and demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills, along with training in de-escalation and conflict management, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming shopping environment. 

Position Overview: 

Location: Halton Hills, ON

Shift: Friday to Tuesday hrs

Pay Rate: $22.04/hr 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Supervision & Leadership

• Supervise and direct security guards during assigned shifts

• Provide on-the-job coaching, guidance, and performance feedback

• Ensure adequate staffing levels and coverage across the property

• Conduct shift briefings and debriefings

Security Operations

• Monitor and patrol the outdoor mall property to deter theft, vandalism, and unsafe activity

• Ensure security coverage for common areas, parking lots, events, and peak traffic times

• Enforce mall rules, policies, and procedures in a professional and customer-focused manner

• Ensure proper access control and crowd management during events or high-traffic periods

Incident Management

• Respond to incidents including medical emergencies, disturbances, theft, lost children, and property damage

• Take control during emergencies and coordinate response efforts

• Liaise with police, fire, EMS, and mall management as required

• Complete accurate incident reports and follow-up documentation

Customer Service

• Act as a visible and approachable presence on the property

• Assist customers and tenants with inquiries, directions, and concerns

• De-escalate conflicts using strong communication and conflict-management skills

Administrative Duties

• Complete daily logs, reports, and shift summaries

• Report hazards, maintenance issues, and safety concerns to management

• Assist with investigations and evidence handling when required

• Ensure compliance with company, mall, and regulatory standards

 QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Valid Ontario Security License  

• Valid First Aid and CPR Certification 

• Minimum of 2 years' experience supervising security teams (3-6 staff) in the public sector. Strong preference for those that have experience in a shopping centre/mall environment. 

• Strong understanding of security protocols and procedures, including emergency response, conflict resolution, and de-escalation tactics 

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook 

• Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills 

• Knowledge of security systems, visitor management protocols, and facility patrols 

• Ability to maintain accurate reports, logs, and documentation 

• Team player committed to a safe, secure, and welcoming shopping environment
