At CD, we explore the art of the possible to create frictionless, connected, and personalized experiences for guests and operators alike.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer to help design, build, and scale our Snowflake-based data platform — the backbone of Compass Digital's data ecosystem. You'll build the foundation that enables data-driven innovation across our business, from analytics and AI to operational intelligence.

This is a hands-on engineering role that blends architecture, automation, and data platform management in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

What You'll Do

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable Snowflake environments across multiple environments.
  • Define and manage schema structures, data models, and access control frameworks to support reliable data operations.
  • Implement data security controls — including masking, row-level access, and RBAC.
  • Optimize query performance, warehouse utilization, and cost efficiency in Snowflake.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform and related IaC tools.
  • Integrate Snowflake with Power BI and other components of CDL's analytics ecosystem.
  • Enable data sharing and interoperability across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with platform, product, and data teams to ensure reliability, observability, and scalability of our data systems.
  • Stay current on AWS, Apache Iceberg, and emerging data technologies to evolve the platform's capabilities.

Think you have what it takes to be our Tech Lead, Data Platform Engineer? Here is how we know you'll be the right fit:

  • Proven experience designing and managing Snowflake-based data platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, schema management, and governance best practices.
  • Hands-on expertise in data security controls (masking, RBAC, row-level access).
  • Proficiency in SQL and a scripting language such as Python.
  • Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of data sharing strategies and open table formats (e.g., Apache Iceberg).
  • Experience integrating Snowflake with BI tools like Power BI.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automation practices.
  • Experience with dbt is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
