About the Role

We are looking for an experienced
Test Engineer
to support testing initiatives across UI, API, integration, and data layers. The ideal candidate will have solid hands-on automation expertise using Selenium and Java, strong API testing capabilities, and the ability to work within structured QA processes.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute manual and automated test cases across UI, API, and integration layers

• Build and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium, Java, and approved automation frameworks

• Convert manual test scenarios into automated test suites to improve efficiency and coverage

• Participate in design and requirement discussions to ensure clarity and testability

• Collaborate with development, QA leads, product teams, and business stakeholders to triage and validate defects

• Support functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing activities

• Maintain test data, test environments, and all relevant QA documentation

• Work collaboratively with automation team members to ensure consistent test coverage across applications

Must-Have Skills:

• 3–5 years of experience in automation development

• Strong experience automating Java applications using Selenium or similar UI automation tools

• Hands-on experience in API automation using REST and SOAP tools such as Postman, Swagger, or SoapUI

• Strong SQL skills with experience validating backend logic, data flows, and database interactions

• Familiarity with Jira, SonarQube/Sonar Lint, Git/version control, and test management tools

• Understanding of Curam Business Process Objects (BPO), or a strong ability to learn quickly

General Skills:

• Strong understanding of SDLC and structured QA/testing methodologies

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities

• Ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver work within timelines

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Experience with functional, regression, integration, and basic performance testing

• Ability to create test plans, test cases, and test data for different phases of testing

• Experience supporting UAT and validating end-to-end business workflows

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with scripting languages such as Java, JavaScript, or Python

• Experience developing automated test suites for COTS or packaged applications

• Familiarity with information management concepts and data retrieval tools

• Understanding of object-oriented testing approaches

• Knowledge of accessibility guidelines such as AODA/WCAG

• Experience automating testing for both small and large-scale systems

Technical Focus Areas:

Testing

• Functional, integration, regression, and API testing

• Test case design aligned with risk, business priority, and acceptance criteria

• Work with JSON/XML, Open API/Swagger, Postman, and SoapUI for API validation

• End-to-end flow testing, data consistency validation, and support for UAT

Data & Databases

• SQL-based test data preparation and results validation

• Testing database logic including triggers, constraints, stored procedures, and data integrity

Automation & Tools

• Building UI and API automated test scripts with Selenium or equivalent tools

• Using Git, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions for version control and CI integration

• Conducting accessibility checks (AODA/WCAG) when applicable

Collaboration & Communication

• Preparing clear test documentation, execution logs, and test reports

• Coordinating with Development, Product, BA, and Architecture teams to support testing activities
