Music Therapist

Kayla's Children Centre provides education, therapy, recreational programs, and respite services for children with a wide variety of special needs within a Jewish cultural setting.

We are looking for a passionate, dynamic music therapist to work in our therapy clinic. The KCC Therapy Clinic offers a variety of group and individual therapies for our school and camp, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, music therapy, hydrotherapy, and behavioural services.

We are a growing organization with opportunities for mentorship for entry-level therapists. This

position is a full-time, permanent position.

Requirements:

• Entry level or above, Baccalaureate or Master's degree in Music Therapy

• Current registration with the Canadian Association of Music Therapists preferred

• Experience working with children with diverse abilities, including ASD, ADHD,

developmental disabilities, and physical disabilities

• Ability to assess and implement developmentally appropriate therapy programming for

groups and individual clients

• Good collaboration and communication skills to work in an interdisciplinary team with

and run multidisciplinary groups

• Communicates effectively in person and via writing and maintains professional

relationships with students, family members, and school staff

• Proficient computer skills for online scheduling and documentation

• Strong music proficiency in voice and instruments; guitar skills preferred

Strong group leadership skills and ability to establish effective group dynamics
