What will you do?

• Analyze, design, deliver, and implement analytic development projects, with the use of RBC's analytics tools,

• Ensure that project activities are accomplished within approved time frames, scope, and budgets

• Apply data warehouse concepts and methodologies to various projects

• Be an active contributor to not only your individual team, but to the RBC development community

• Constantly seek out better ways to do things, new tools, new technologies, new processes

• Work as part of an agile team responsible for end-to-end delivery of business needs

• Use business domain knowledge to independently lead the analytics process to turn raw data into actionable insights and presenting findings to stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner

• Promote analytics across the enterprise to enable RBC to become a data-driven organization

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics

• Leadership acumen and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment

• Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)

• Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast paced environment

• Experience or understanding of open-source software frameworks (Hadoop), data visualization tools (Tableau and Splunk), and databases (SQL and/or VBA)

• Programming skills in one or more languages (ex. Python, SAS)

• Ability to data extract, transform, and load processes with a variety of data types

• Ability to perform complex data analysis on large volumes of data and present findings to stakeholders

• Strong MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint

Nice-to-have

• Proficient in building statistical and algorithmic models with complex and large datasets, including but not limited to: graph network analysis, clustering, natural language processing, data visualization.

• Knowledge of design, development, and implementation utilizing current analytics technologies and architecture, as well as data warehouse concepts and methodologies

• Relational database concepts and design experience

• Ability to learn and absorb new concepts (in business and in systems) quickly and apply new knowledge

Please note: This posting is for a 4-months Summer 2026 Student placement with a start date of May 2026, and end date of August 2026. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either:

• Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of August 2026 ; or
• If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in August 2026), you must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
