WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU We invite you to apply to join our Tempo community   About the Position: The Slitter Operator is responsible for slitting and wrapping rolls of printed product in preparation for shipment to the customer or for delivery to the converting department. Basic mechanical abilities will assist Slitter Operators in setting up the slitter accurately allowing for minimal scrap and high quality finished product.What you will do as a Slitter Operator:Read dockets and confirm the information Set up the slitting machine as per the specifications listedLoad, shaft and run rolls through the slitting machineInput information pertaining to the job into TORIConfirm slit size and "slit" pass with Extrusion and Slitting ManagerPrepare 6 cores, cut cores, obtain material required for the next shiftOrder film and cores for upcoming ordersSupply samples of each product to the docket for a future runBuild skids safely in accordance with customer guidelines Strap skids when completed for removal from departmentFill out NMR's and Action request, assist with rework or repair activities and keep a record of work orders for maintenancePerform "Hammer testing" on cores of finished product checking "snugness" on orders 8" or less in lengthCreate skid tags, label products and skids, wrap, weigh and core plug all rollsPlace completed dockets in designated areas for the Production SchedulerCheck-in TORI to make sure all the rolls are usedOther duties as required or requested by the Print Operations ManagerWho We Are: Tempo Flexible Packaging is a client centric brand focused vertically integrated partner of custom flexible packaging solutions.
