Ottawa, Ontario, Canada CrowdStrike Full time

As a global leader in cybersecurity, CrowdStrike protects the people, processes and technologies that drive modern organizations. Since 2011, our mission hasn't changed — we're here to stop breaches, and we've redefined modern security with the world's most advanced AI-native platform. We work on large scale distributed systems, processing almost 3 trillion events per day and this traffic is growing daily. Our customers span all industries, and they count on CrowdStrike to keep their businesses running, their communities safe and their lives moving forward. We're also a mission-driven company. We cultivate a culture that gives every CrowdStriker both the flexibility and autonomy to own their careers. We're always looking to add talented CrowdStrikers to the team who have limitless passion, a relentless focus on innovation and a fanatical commitment to our customers, our community and each other. Ready to join a mission that matters? The future of cybersecurity starts with you.

About the Role:

As a Technical Writer II, you'll write customer-focused product documentation that helps customers maximize their use of our solutions. You'll work closely with other writers, product managers, engineers, and UX designers to develop a deep understanding of complex products and what users need to know to use them effectively.

This is a hybrid role based out of our office in Toronto, Canada.

What You'll Do:

  • Produce high-quality product documentation, release notes, API documentation and more to guide and educate customers.

  • Develop deep product knowledge through researching, partnering with SMEs, and using the product.

  • Embrace our modern, conversational voice and tone and follow our writing team's standards, processes, and best practices.

  • Partner with other technical writers and with product managers, engineers, US designers, and other stakeholders to embed yourself in the software development process.

  • Participate in collaborative content reviews and implement feedback to make your documentation best-in-class.

  • Tailor documentation to the intended audiences and advocate for the customer in all aspects of your job.

  • Independently manage your own projects.

What You'll Need:

  • Experience with DITA/XML and structured authoring.

  • Demonstrated understanding of topic-based authoring and reusable information architecture.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment with tight deadlines and high expectations.

  • Excellent writing skills, including thoughtful information hierarchy, great sentence structure, and a conversational yet professional voice.

  • A user-centric focus on what the customer needs, not what the system does.

  • Strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and appreciation for process.

  • Portfolio of writing samples that demonstrate your ability to make complex technical subjects easy to comprehend for an intended audience.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience using an XML authoring tool, preferably Oxygen XML Editor.

  • Familiarity with a docs-as-code model or experience using Git for documentation source control.

  • Knowledge of and experience with cybersecurity.

  • Experience with Component Content Management Systems.
