Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves safely operating commercial vehicles to deliver freight efficiently across designated routes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of freight handling, vehicle maintenance, and safety protocols, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining high standards of professionalism and safety. Involves highway driving with early morning start times

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate trucks for the transportation of freight over short and long distances
  • Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other heavy equipment as necessary
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and documentation for each trip
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients regarding delivery schedules and issues
  • Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle operability
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and company safety regulations during operations
  • Assist with warehouse duties including freight handling and inventory management when required

Skills

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with clean driving record
  • Experience with freight transportation and heavy equipment operation such as forklifts
  • Knowledge of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting vehicle issues
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations related to commercial driving and freight handling
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
  • Ability to manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines
