Product Owner

The Product Owner is responsible for the day-to-day management of one or more product verticals within SCI. The Product Owner will work in an agile environment and follow scrum methodology to ensure continuous delivery for customers. The role of the Product Owner is to ensure alignment of a shared product vision, create user stories, maintain a groomed backlog, and maximize the value of the product and the work of the team. They are empowered and responsible for the success of the product.
Responsibilities
The product owner is responsible for maximizing the value of the product and the work done by the scrum team. Main responsibilities are:
- Envisioning the product
- Creating alignment of a shared vision among the team
- Creating product and user workflows
- Creating user stories and co-creating user acceptance criteria
- Grooming and prioritizing the backlog to best achieve stakeholder goals and missions
- Optimizing the value of the product and the work of the team
- Collaborating with stakeholders
- Contributions to the product roadmap, design, and vision
- Triage resolution for L4 production defects
- Planning releases
- Participating in team meetings
- Ad-hoc duties as may be assigned

Qualifications
- Proficiency: possesses expertise in their domain area of focus; recognized as a subject matter expert
- Efficiency: ability to produce high-impact results with minimal resource usage and limited need for direct supervision
- Organization & Planning: plans, organizes, schedules and budgets in an efficient, product manner. Focuses on key priorities. Attention to detail is their middle name.
- Communication: speaks and writes clearly and articulately without being overly verbose or talkative. Maintains this standard in all forms of communication.
- Teamwork: reaches out to peers and cooperates with supervisors to establish an overall collaborative working relationship
- Intelligence: learns quickly. Demonstrates an ability to quickly and proficiently understand and absorb new information.
- Listening skills: lets others speak and seeks to understand their viewpoints.
Experience
- Minimum 3-4 years of relevant product experience
- Automotive industry experience is an asset
EDUCATION
- Post-secondary Education: or equivalent work experience
- Certified Scrum Product Owner training is an asset
