Product Owner

A Product Owner with endeavors to be a trusted technology and business advocate. They support our clients in their journey to implement technological solutions. This role will provide insights and direction to Lantern's clients, utilizing the best practices when gathering business and technical requirements. Their core skills are an example to more junior members, and they are a major contributor to the delivery and quality assurance for the project scope of work. They are capable of leading multiple engagements, providing consulting to clients, and mentorship to team members. A Product Owner is expected to have ample professional consulting experience, preferably in a custom software development or modern work consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help our clients to realize their technology solution ambitions through leading client-focused discovery workshops, with a specific focus on creating and delivering leading-edge solutions.
  • Work with clients to understand and document their requirements in a language that can easily be used by our delivery team to create best-in-class solutions.
  • Facilitate or lead envisioning, design, and planning workshops for our clients to understand the current state and help them envision the future state.
  • Writing project specifications and user stories (simple explanations of features written from the user's perspective)
  • Writing acceptance criteria for user stories and conducting quality assurance testing prior to client user acceptance testing.
  • Determining which features should be prioritized for development in the backlog.
  • Collaborate with the Product Design team in creating best-in-class deliverables.
  • Mentorship and coaching of junior team members.
  • Create and conduct Knowledge Share sessions with Client Experience practice team members.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • 6-8 years of Product Management experience in Agile environments, with a proven track record of delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  • Proficient with requirements gathering including conducting workshops, user research, product roadmap planning, and more.
  • Competent in Product Design Thinking in relation to custom software development.
  • Competent with quality assurance testing methodologies
  • Proficient in effective communication, both written and verbal, with team members, end users, stakeholders, project sponsors, client executives and more.
  • Mastery of Agile delivery methodologies.
