Orton-Gillingham Tutor

Star Academy is a private school offering Pre-K to Grade 8 educational programming in Mississauga. Star Academy has a dedicated teaching and administrative team, small class sizes, mixed-age groupings, and an integrated environment.

We are inviting individuals with Orton Gillingham training to apply for a resource teacher position, available immediately.

The ideal applicant will:

Have a range of strategies and program knowledge for literacy teaching, including reading writing, and spelling;

Experience teaching/tutoring students ages 6 to 14;

Experience with Language Arts curriculum in the province of Ontario.

Other:

• Provide proof of membership in the Ontario College of Teachers or equivalent teaching degree

• Be proficient and knowledgeable with assistive technology and the Google Classroom

• Be able to integrate and work in a positive team player environment

• Be able to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues

• Have excellent Oral, Writing, and Communication skills

• An up-to-date vulnerable sector police check is a condition of employment.

Job Type: January to July 2026, Monday to Friday, Part-time and Full-time options available.

Salary Range: $55,000 to $65,000 (full-time) based on educational training and experience.
